Blockchain Development Services for Web3 & DeFi
Quick answer: Our blockchain development services cover smart contracts, dApps and DeFi protocols from scoping to mainnet: requirements, architecture, contract and front-end development, internal security review, testing, deployment and post-launch support. Work starts with a paid scoping phase and is then quoted per phase, and anything that will hold user funds goes through an independent audit before launch.
Typical projects include token and vesting contracts, staking and rewards systems, NFT mints with allowlists, DEX or lending integrations, bridges between an existing app and a chain, and dashboards that read on-chain data. Because Cohort Marketing also runs launch marketing, we plan the build around the launch date, so the contracts, front end and campaign are ready at the same time.

Secure Web3 development: what we check before writing code
Most expensive blockchain bugs start as design decisions, not typos. Before development starts we agree on the decisions that are hard to change once contracts are deployed.
- Chain and stack. EVM chains, Solana or a Layer 2, chosen on fees, wallet support, liquidity and where your users already are, with the tradeoffs written down.
- Upgradeability and admin keys. Whether contracts can be upgraded, who holds admin rights, and whether those rights sit behind a multisig or timelock. Users and auditors will ask.
- Trust assumptions. Oracles, bridges and off-chain services the system depends on, and what happens if one of them fails.
- Known attack patterns. Reentrancy, price manipulation, access control mistakes and rounding errors are designed out from the first draft, using established libraries such as OpenZeppelin where they fit.

From blockchain concept to production code: our process
Every build follows the same phases, and each one ends with something you can review.
- Scoping. Requirements, user flows and a technical specification, with a fixed quote for the next phases. Usually two to four weeks.
- Architecture. Contract structure, data model, integrations and the deployment plan, reviewed with your team before coding starts.
- Development and testing. Contracts and front end built in short cycles with code review on every change, unit and integration tests, and fuzz testing on the parts that move funds.
- Testnet and audit. Public or private testnet deployment, internal security review, then hand-off to an independent audit firm and fixes for its findings.
- Mainnet and support. Deployment scripts, contract verification on block explorers, monitoring, and a support period for fixes and small changes.
What you get from our blockchain developers
At the end of an engagement your team should be able to run and extend the system without us. That is why every project ships with the same set of deliverables.
- Source code and tests. A repository in your organization, with test suites and instructions to run them, plus deployment scripts for each target network.
- Documentation. An architecture overview, contract-by-contract notes on roles and permissions, and a runbook for common admin actions such as pausing a contract or rotating keys.
- Knowledge transfer. Walkthrough sessions with your engineers, recorded so new hires can watch them later.
- Ongoing support. Optional monthly support for new features, chain upgrades and integrations, scoped like any other phase.
If your project is new to the chain you picked, we also share the tooling and indexing services we used, so your team is not starting from scratch.

Security, performance and compliance checks before launch
- Internal security review. Exploits have cost blockchain projects a great deal of money, so every contract gets static analysis, manual review against a checklist of known vulnerability types, and a findings log with severity and status. This prepares the code for the independent audit; it does not replace it.
- Performance and gas. We benchmark gas costs on the target chain, test the front end and indexers under realistic load, and check how the app behaves when RPC providers are slow or the network is congested.
- Regulatory considerations. We flag features that often raise legal questions, such as token sales, yield, custody and geographic restrictions, so you can review them with your counsel before launch. We build the controls your lawyers ask for, such as geoblocking or allowlists; we do not give legal advice.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a blockchain development engagement include?
Engagements cover discovery and requirements analysis, technical architecture, smart contract and application development, security review, testing, deployment, and post-launch support. You receive documentation and a knowledge transfer session so your team can maintain the system. Typical builds include dApps, smart contracts, and DeFi protocols.
How do you price blockchain development work?
Scoped projects are quoted as a fixed price per phase after discovery, which is billed separately as a paid scoping engagement. Longer or evolving builds run on a monthly team rate with a defined allocation of engineers. Third-party costs such as external audits, node providers, and infrastructure are passed through at cost and listed in the estimate.
How long does a blockchain build take?
Discovery and architecture usually take two to four weeks. A focused smart contract or single-feature dApp often ships in six to ten weeks after that, while a full protocol or game runs three to six months. Security review and external audit scheduling add time, so audit slots are booked early rather than at the end.
How is development quality measured?
Quality is tracked through test coverage, code review completion, static analysis findings, and gas efficiency benchmarks on target chains. Load testing simulates realistic conditions before release. Every finding from internal security review is logged with a severity rating and a resolution status, and that report is shared with you rather than summarized.
Do we still need a third-party audit if you build it?
Yes. Our internal security review and testing reduce risk, but an independent audit from a separate firm is a different control and we recommend one before mainnet deployment of anything holding funds. We prepare the codebase and documentation for audit, coordinate with the auditor, and implement remediations. Audit fees are paid directly to the audit firm.
