Room 14
A Telegram that had been outsourced, then abandoned. Rebuild the room before buying another wave of members.
- Sector
- Protocol community
- Constraint
- Hired mods went silent; the chat filled with spam
New members were arriving into a scam pin and a dead welcome bot. Paid acquisition into that room would have been vandalism.
We replaced the mod roster, wrote a tone of voice a stranger could recognise, and put office hours on the calendar.
What we ran
- Named mods, with a published escalation path
- A scam-response drill rehearsed, not laminated
- Weekly founder office hours with a written agenda
- A slow re-open of invites once the pins were clean
How we judged it
Whether a new member could tell who was in charge within two minutes, and whether rumours died in-channel. Member counts were not the story.
